Programs Used: Procreate for iPad

Physical media is a significant part of what inspires my art. This project inspired by a specific scene in a book, Killswitch by Penelope Douglas. In this scene, the main character, Damon, is watching Winter, his love interest, dancing in the foyer of her house. I saw this scene so clearly in my head that I immediately closed the book and went to my iPad into Procreate.

 

I wanted Damon to be up close and personal to the viewer to show how entranced he was with Winter's dancing. To showcase that even more, I drew Winter in the iris of Damon's eye to show that he is paying attention to every detail of her dance. I felt it was way more impactful for the viewer of this artwork to only see Damon's eye because you get an inside look at what he is seeing, his perspective and how he feels.
