Mother's Day Cards

I created a set of Mother's Day cards that had puns inside of them. I produced 3 cards that each have unique phrases/puns and each have their own theme. The first card I created was a coffee themed Mother's Day card. On the front of the design, I created a mug with some brewing coffee inside and a little touch I added was the hearts to give a loving and affectionate quality.
This lotus themed Mother's Day card allowed me to experiment with a lot of the gradient tools in Illustrator to achieve the ombre effect on the flower. I wanted to stick with the colors of green and pink since those are the colors of lily pads. I chose to make this card a little more sophisticated and chose to do a border around the card and include an airy cursive font.
Mother's Day is all about spreading love to mother's around the world so in honor of love, I fashioned this card to show the affection and admiration. With this design, I definitely experimented a lot with different shapes rather than doing just a solid color for a background. The type on the front needed to pop more so I added some shadow behind it to help bring the type forward.
